This page explains what personal information Do Breathe collects, why, and what you can do about it. In short: I collect only what I need to send you what you've asked for and to run my coaching practice. I never sell your data.

Who I am

Do Breathe is run by Michael Townsend Williams, sole trader (UK). I'm responsible for your data. Contact me at michael@dobreathe.com.

What I collect, and why

  • Welldoing Survey: your answers, name and email. I use these to work out your welldoing type, send your results and a few follow-up emails, and, anonymised and combined with other responses, for research such as the Welldoing Report. Because answers about how you feel and cope may count as health-related information, I ask for your explicit consent before you submit. Legal basis: your explicit consent.
  • Newsletter: your name and email, to send Be | Why | Do. Legal basis: your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Calls and coaching: your name, email, anything you share when booking, and my session notes. Legal basis: our agreement to work together. What you share in sessions stays confidential.
  • Enquiries: whatever you send me by email or form. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in replying.
  • Website analytics: simple, anonymous counts of which pages are visited, plus country and device type, using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, doesn't follow you across other sites and doesn't build a profile of you. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful.

Who helps me process it

I use trusted providers: Cloudflare (website and survey hosting, and website analytics), Brevo (email), Proton (email, booking calls, meetings) and Airtable (contact records). Videos and audio on some pages are embedded from Vimeo and SoundCloud. Some of these providers are based outside the UK and the EU, including in the US. Transfers are protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long I keep it

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Survey answers: until you withdraw consent.
  • Invoices and accounts: as long as tax law requires, currently at least five years in the UK.
  • Session notes: three years after our last session.
  • Enquiries: five years.
  • Website analytics: anonymous counts only, kept by Cloudflare for a limited period. They identify no one.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how it's used, receive a copy, or withdraw consent at any time. Email me and I'll respond within a month. You can also complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr) in France or the ICO (ico.org.uk) in the UK.

Cookies

My own site uses no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Where a page embeds a video from Vimeo or audio from SoundCloud, that service may set its own cookies when the player loads. You can block them in your browser settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
