The Art of Welldoing

12 | 14 - You

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

You are the technology.

And the world needs you to use it wisely.

Make a dent in the universe without making a dent in your wellbeing.

The world is facing complex challenges.
And we are too.

We need clear, calm heads to make better choices, every day.

And yet, most of us are breathing too fast – increasing our stress levels and reducing our ability to cope and recover from the daily challenges we face.

We live in a time where new ideas can spread like wildfire across the internet and social media. You really can make a dent in the universe if you want!

At the same time, we are overwhelmed by all the information, feeds, notifications, emails and messages.

We are quick to blame the technology giants, the media, the politicians. And yes, the stressed-out busyness is making us sick.

However, all too often, we fail to see the main culprit - ourselves.

Choose what you can control.

We can’t always control what life throws at us.

But we can control how we respond.

And the secret to mastering that is the breath.

By managing your emotional state and stress better and by learning how to build resilience, you will move from a life of chaotic reactions, to one of clearer responses.

Don’t allow the feelings of overwhelm and uncertainty stop you from making the changes in your life you need to thrive, be happy and healthy.

Don’t let your problems getting to sleep, or your inability to switch off, stop you from being your best you.

Don’t be scared away from dreaming too big and imagining a better life.

Learn with us how breathing in sync with your heart can build resilience, improve focus and help you relax and sleep more easily. And help you move through challenging moments more skilfully.

We can’t promise to iron out all the bumps on the way, but we might be able to help you cope with them better.

Your breath is always with you.

We can all thrive in the art of welldoing – creating a brilliant life whilst improving our wellbeing on the way.

But first we need to breathe better.

Stress is everywhere, luckily so is the breath. Your breath lets you know when things aren’t right.

And also knows how to help too. When you breathe slowly, your busy mind can’t but help slow down too.

Let's recap.

As you will have learnt and experienced through the Art of Welldoing programme, your breath can become your constant companion.

So you can …

  • Do Breathe to focus at work.

  • Do Breathe to take a me-moment.

  • Do Breathe to unwind.

  • Do Breathe into nature.

  • Do Breathe to sleep.

Maybe, as you breathe more slowly and make it part of your everyday life, you will feel more in sync with your body.

As you slow down a little more, maybe your mind clears, and you move a little closer to the life you desire, not only for yourself, but for your family, your friends and the wider world around you.

3 things

1. Breathe well.
Start with at least one minute of Do Breathe everyday for a week!

2. Be well.
Relax after work for 5 minutes.

3. Do well.
If it takes 2 minutes or less, just do it.

What's next ?

Well done!

There has probably been quite a lot to take in over this past fortnight, and we're on the home straight now.

We'll be in touch again on Saturday morning, with some final tips on keeping up some of the good habits we have introduced over this past fortnight, and a link to the programme archive.

Breathe well. Be well. Do well.
